If you enjoy atmospheric horror go check out Presence starring Steven Soderbergh. Soderbergh's entry into the genre of supernatural tales is refreshing and unsettling. On January 17th 2025 Presence is coming to select theaters as an immersive thriller filmed at one location that stole hearts at the 2024 Sundance festival. In the latest teaser trailer's haunting view lies Soderbergh's carefully crafted eerie supernatural realm.

The premise of Presence may seem familiar: Once settling in a house in suburbia a family starts to suspect they are not the sole inhabitants. This film is unique because of its executional approach. With a twist from Koepp and Soderbergh's unique visuals this stands out from standard horror films. The flow of the storyline is precise and evocative while maintaining an air of intrigue and buildup of pressure.

This film includes established performers as well as fresh newcomers. Lucy Liu and Chris Sullivan captivate alongside Callina Liang and Julia Fox as well as Eddy Maday in the ensemble Silence and empty areas enhance the challenge;

If you enjoy your horror with intricacy and deep psychological themes then Presence seems like a film to watch.
