Give Up, Or Get Up: Susannah Grant To Adapt THE 5th WAVE Novel
Here comes another young-adult novel adaptation. We've just learned that Susannah Grant, lady responsible for Erin Brockovich screenplay, is set to adapt Rick Yancey‘s novel The 5th Wave for Sony. Described as The Passage meets Ender's Game, the novel revolves around a young girl who survives an alien invasion, and as you're about to see in the rest of this report – guarantees a lot of supernatural action…
So, at this moment we know that The 5th Wave is the first in a planned trilogy which centers on a 16-year-old girl named Cassie, one of the remaining survivors following an alien attack.
Now, Cassie has to search for her brother who might have been abducted by human-looking extraterrestrials, and she is helped by a boy who also might be an alien in disguise. Smells like another teen romance set against the backdrop of a future in peril?
Exactly!
And just in case you want to read more details, here's the official description of Yancey's novel:
