A second trailer has now been released for the upcoming thriller The Counselor. The film follows a lawyer (Michael Fassbender) who finds himself on the wrong side of the mob after he gets involved with drug trafficking.
Directed by the triple Oscar nominated Sir Ridley Scott (Alien, Gladiator, Prometheus), this high-energy, gritty thriller is all about corruption and how smalls mistakes can lead to major consequences.
Joining Michael Fassbender in the cast ensemble are Javier Bardem, Brad Pitt, Penelope Cruz, Cameron Diaz, Dean Norris, Rosie Perez, John Leguizamo, Natalie Dormer, and Goran Visnjic.
The screenplay has been written by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Cormac McCarthy (No Country for Old Men, All the Pretty Horses, The Road) .

Here's the synopsis for the film
Legendary filmmaker Ridley Scott and Pulitzer Prize winning author Cormac McCarthy (No Country for Old Men) have joined forces in the motion picture thriller THE COUNSELOR. Along the gritty terrain of the Texas–Mexico border, a respected and recently engaged lawyer (Michael Fassbender) throws his stakes into a cocaine trade worth millions. His hope is that it will be a one-time deal and that, afterward, he can settle into life with his beloved fiancée (Penélope Cruz). But instead, the Counselor finds himself mired in a brutal and dangerous game—one that threatens to destroy everything and everyone he loves.
The Counselor opens in the U.S. on October 25th, 2013.
