Walt Disney Pictures has officially released the trailer and poster for the upcoming sci-fi movie The Odd Life of Timothy Green. which is written and directed by Peter Hedges ( Dan in Real Life , What's Eating Gilbert Grape ).

Timothy Green grows from mom and dad's back yard like Adam from the Garden of Eden in this new trailer for “The Odd Life of Timothy Green,” which delivers the film's premise but leaves the titular oddities a mystery. Anticipation builds to a climactic reveal of our protagonist, the drama accentuated by a dreamy and penetrating score.
Packed with American-suburban clichés – big houses with pools, little league soccer, kids climbing trees – the trailer flirts with schmaltz, in typical Disney fashion, but manages to stay mostly genuine. In the final thirty seconds our odd leading man lives up to his name: there are three shots of Timothy Green holding his hands up, Christlike. This strange motif is the trailer's cheesiest moment but it leaves a lasting impression. Furthermore, the touch of religiosity will act like box office honey for swarms of middle-class WASPs across America.
“The Odd Life of Timothy Green” stars Jennifer Garner, Joel Edgerton, CJ Adams, Ron Livingston, Dianne Wiest, Odeya Rush, Rosemarie DeWitt, Lin-Manuel Miranda, M. Emmet Walsh, Lois Smith and Common and will be released in theaters next year.
