Tobey Maguire has signed to produce “Afterburn“ – the big screen adaptation based on the Red 5 comic.Variety reports Neal Moritz’s Original Films is lined up to produce the project with Relativity in talks to join in on the film.
The Red 5 comic was written by Paul Ens and Scott Chitwood and starts one year after a solar flare has burned half of the planet. It follows treasure hunters to return to the scorched portions of the planet to find valuable artifacts.
