Check out two new posters for Robert Pattinson‘s new movie, Bel Ami. The film adaptation of Guy de Maupassant’s 1885 novel, stars the Twilight actor as Georges Duroy, an ex-soldier and journalist who uses his charm and good looks to climb the social ladder in Paris.
Bel Ami is the story of Georges Duroy (Pattinson), who travels through 1890s Paris, from cockroach ridden garrets to opulent salons, using his wits and powers of seduction to rise from poverty to wealth, from a prostitute’s embrace to passionate trysts with wealthy beauties, in a world where politics and media jostle for influence, where sex is power and celebrity an obsession.
Rachel Bennette wrote the adapted screenplay.
Along with Pattinson the film also stars Uma Thurman, Kristin Scott Thomas, and Christina Ricci.
Directed by Declan Donnellan and Nick Omerod, the drama is scheduled to hit theaters on March 2nd, 2012.

Is a distributor your source of the second poster? I’m just wondering about the March 2 release date. That used to be the UK release date from Studio Canal but they’ve changed it to March 9th. Did the second poster come from the US distributor Sony or Columbia and is the March 2nd release date confirmed by them?
