Every now and then we hear something about that
The Last Voyage of Demeter project, but never something official and worth our full attention. Which is bad actually, because this story definitely has a lot of potential.
But hey, it looks that things are about to change, because we have some rumors that
Viggo Mortensen has been offered the lead role in the whole thing!
In case you don't remember, once upon a time
David Slade was on board to helm while
Noomi Rapace and
Ben Kingsley were attached to star in it.
Unfortunately, Slade soon moved on and
Neil Marshall signed on to direct the movie this May. Since then – not a word about the movie.
Now, according to some reports, we have Mortensen as an option for the lead role, while Kingsley is reportedly still attached to play the ship's Captain with Rapace who could jump in to star as Anna Billington.
We say “could”, because everything is possible with this project, so don't get too excited about this yet.
At the end, let us also add that the movie is actually based on Bram Stoker's 1897 novel Dracula and that it would (or should) follow the adventures of a titular vampire who travels with a ship from Transylvania to London.
Sounds interesting, right? Stay tuned for more updates on this one!
