Bridesmaids director Paul Feig
returns to a female-driven comedy with The Heat
, starring Sandra Bullock
and Feig’s break-out star Melissa McCarthy
as a by-the-book FBI agent and a foul-mouthed Boston police officer, respectively.
The two have been forced to work together to bust up a drug ring. The film’s script was written by Kate Dippold
, of Parks and Recreation fame and will obviously showcase another side to America’s Sweetheart Sandra Bullock in an R-rated action-comedy.
The trailer which you can be watched using the player below, proves that the comedic talents of Bullock and McCarthy are enough to turn the basic logline into a really fun ride, not to mention Thomas F. Wilson
(Back to the Future) back on the big screen.
The Heat also stars Demian Bichir, Tony Hale, Taran Killam
, and Michael Rapaport
and opens on June 28th, 2013.
Here’s a synopsis:
Uptight and straight-laced, FBI Special Agent Sarah Ashburn (Sandra Bullock) is a methodical investigator with a reputation for excellence–and hyper-arrogance. Shannon Mullins (Melissa McCarthy), one of Boston P.D.’s ‘finest,’ is foul-mouthed and has a very short fuse, and uses her gut instinct and street smarts to catch the most elusive criminals. Neither has ever had a partner, or a friend for that matter. When these two wildly incompatible law officers join forces to bring down a ruthless drug lord, they become the last thing anyone expected: buddies. From Paul Feig, the director of Bridesmaids.
