Just yesterday we saw two new posters for The World's End and today Focus Features has released a new theatrical trailer for its upcoming comedy.
The final installment in Simon Pegg, Edgar Wright and Nick Frost‘s ‘Three Flavours Cornetto‘ trilogy promises to take things to a whole new level with an apocalyptic outcome to the reunion of five old friends.
The film co-stars Eddie Marsan, Martin Freeman and Paddy Considine with Pegg and Frost as the central quintet of drinkers; Rosamund Pike plays Freeman's sister and Pegg's ‘old flame'.
Wright directs this finale to the ‘Blood and Ice Cream' trilogy, which was written by Pegg and Wright.
Described as a ‘social science fiction' film, The World's End will open in the United Kingdom on July 19th before arriving in the United States on August 23rd, 2013.
You can watch the new trailer below.
Here's the film's official synopsis:
Director Edgar Wright and actors Simon Pegg and Nick Frost reunite for a third film following the successes of “Shaun of the Dead” (2004) and “Hot Fuzz” (2007). In “The World's End,” 20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hellbent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by Gary King (Simon Pegg), a 40-year-old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their hometown and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub – The World's End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind's. Reaching The World's End is the least of their worries
