We already
wrote about the upcoming indie drama about the assassination of John F. Kennedy titled
Parkland, so you probably know that
Paul Giamatti,
Billy Bob Thornton and
Jacki Weaver are all on board to star in it. Today, we're here to add
Zac Efron and
Marcia Gay Harden to that cast list, because we've just learned that they're officially on board for
Peter Landesman‘s movie as well!
First of all let me remind you that the award-winning journalist and novelist Landesman is making his directorial debut with
Parkland. He is also responsible for the script which is based on
Vincent Bugliosi‘s epic book
Reclaiming History: The Assassination of President John F. Kennedy.
The movie will tell us the dramatic true story of the chaotic events that occurred at Parkland Hospital in Dallas on the day President John F. Kennedy was assassinated on November 22nd 1963.
At this moment we know that Efron will portray Dr. Charles Carrico, a surgeon at Parkland Memorial Hospital, while Harden has signed on to play the part of emergency room nurse Doris Mae Nelson.
Playtone partners Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman are on board to produce the movie together with
Exclusive Media who will also produce and finance the project.
The film, to be shot in Austin, Texas is destined for a 2013 US theatrical release around the 50th anniversary of the assassination.
As usual – we'll keep an eye on it, so stay tuned for more updates!
