First Andrew Dominik’s KILLING THEM SOFTLY Clip
We have the first clip from the upcoming Killing Them Softly movie, which comes from director Andrew Dominik and will compete for Palme d’Or at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
And please – don’t get confused, we’re actually talking about the movie which was previously known as Cogan’s Trade. You know, the one which stars Brad Pitt, Ray Liotta, Sam Shepard and Richard Jenkins?
Yeah, that one, and now please take a look at this 40-sec preview of the whole thing. Well, ok, it’s not exactly the preview of the movie, it’s more like a preview of a fight between Sam Shepard and Slaine on one side and poor Ray Liotta on the other side. After watching this, I definitely understand the new title…
As you already know, the movie centers on Jackie Cogan played by Pitt, an enforcer who, when the Mob’s rules get broken, gets hired to ply his trade – murder. Cogan is called in when a high-stake card game under the protection of the Mob is heisted. Just for a record, the whole thing is actually based on the 1974 George V. Higgins novel “Cogan’s Trade” and it’s Dominik’s first film since 2007 The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.
The rest of the cast also includes Scoot McNairy, Ben Mendelsohn, James Gandolfini, Garret Dillahunt and Vincent Curatola, and the movie is already set to open on November 30th, 2012.
Let us know what you think about the clip and stay tuned for more!
