I’m totally confused about the upcoming Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters movie.
Movie comes from director Tommy Wirkola, which is a good thing, but I don’t know, somehow this doesn’t sound interesting enough for me…After all it’s just another fairy tale re-imagining…
Anyway, today we’re here to share the first image from a movie which takes place 15 years after the siblings’ incident at the gingerbread house.
The two are now specialized bounty hunters looking to put down the cackling black-hat set. That’s pretty much all from the official synopsis, but what the hell, I will admit that their costumes look great. But is that enough?
In an interview with EW Gemma Arterton, who stars as Gretel, reveals that the movie is not about just two actors kicking butt, but they’re instead two people who grew up with no parents and they only have each other and the bond they have, and with the complexities of that, some resentment.
She also added that: “they had to murder somebody when they are kids, so it’s all about being tough. Jeremy and I found within the script moments where we showed the vulnerable side of them.”
The rest of the cast includes Jeremy Renner, Famke Janssen and Peter Stormare and in case you’re interested in this movie I will just remind you that Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters opens on March 2nd, 2012.
