Judging by the latest trailer for the long-awaited sequel to the eleventh film in the Star Trek franchise, Star Trek Into Darkness isn’t going to disappoint fans with high hopes.

After 38 minutes of footage, screened for the select group of journalists this week, the weekend has arrived with a brand new teaser for the movie which contains a few extended scenes from the first two trailers, and it seems to focus much more on Captain Kirk (Chris Pine).

Zachary Quinto also reprises his role of Spock in what looks to be a nail biting journey back into a galaxy far, far away.

While we don’t see as much of the relationship between Kirk and Spock, we do see a lot more of the trademark Star Trek humor that was previously missing from the promo material.

With costumes that look taken directly from Tron: Legacy, Star Trek Into Darkness directed by J.J. Abrams hits IMAX theaters on May 15th and regular theaters May 17th 2013, also starring Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, John Cho, Bruce Greenwood, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin, Benedict Cumberbatch, Alice Eve and Peter Weller.
