The first official Hunger Games promotional poster has hit the Internet.

The film is the first in a trilogy and stars Jennifer Lawrence (Winter’s Bone) as Katniss Everdeen, a 16-year-old living in the post-apocalyptic country of Panem. Also stars Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Donald Sutherland and Lenny Kravitz.

Wyatt Russell Joins Liam Hemsworth for Awol

I’m sure that Awol is familiar title for you, because we already had a little chat about this indie movie which is, by the way, based on a true story.

So, by now, you also know that Liam Hemsworth, Austin Stowell, Teresa Palmer and Aimee Teegarden are all on board to star in Danny Mooney‘s upcoming flick. But, here’s an interesting addition! Apparently now Wyatt Russell will join them as well.

As we previously reported, Awol will follow Stowell as a young soldier in Vietnam who gets dumped by his hometown girl, played by Teegarden.

Liam Hemsworth to Star in Awol, Teresa Palmer, Austin Stowell, Aimee Teegarden Also in Talks

Liam HemsworthOne of the projects that we’re definitely interested in is an upcoming Danny Mooney‘s directorial debut project titled Awol.

And the reason is quite simple – the movie will have great cast, trust us!

According to the latest reports, Liam Hemsworth comes on board to star as the lead, while Austin Stowell, Teresa Palmer, Aimee Teegarden and Max Adler are all in negotiations to star in the movie as well! And that, you must agree, sounds awesome!

Based on a true story, Awol will follow Stowell (Puncture) as a young soldier in Vietnam who gets dumped by his hometown girl, played by Teegarden (Scream 4).

Hemsworth (who’s currently filming The Hunger Games) plays his best friend who joins him in going AWOL, and together, they return to the States to win her back.

LATEST UPDATE: Deadline just reports that talented character actor Toby Jones will portray “the host/narrator of the games alongside Stanley Tucci.”

Do you remember when Nurse John (Lenny Kravitz) tells Precious (Gabourey Sidibe) that she should not be eating McDonalds in Lionsgate’s film of the same name? Well, I’m not sure if that replica was crucial but Lionsgate announced that Kravitz will play Cinna in the Gary Ross’ adaptation of The Hunger Games, as was rumored.

Woody Harrelson Joins The Hunger Games

Woody HarrelsonThe Hunger Games update! Casting, of course, because we just learned that Woody Harrelson will definitely be in the upcoming Gary Ross‘s adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ worldwide smash hit novel that we already wrote so much about.

Harrelson will join the cast that already includes Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Wes Bentley, Elizabeth Banks and Stanley Tucci.

Harrelson has been cast in the role of Haymitch Abernathy, and here’s what director Ross had to say about the character and Harrelson’s involvement:

“Haymitch is such an unforgettable character: funny cranky outrageous, sarcastic, impatient, biting but ultimately kind. I’m so grateful we have Woody Harrelson to play him. I can’t wait for us to get to work.”

Stanley TucciThe Hunger Games cast is getting even more bigger! According to the latest reports, Stanley Tucci (we all know who he is, I guess) will star in the upcoming Gary Ross’ adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ worldwide smash hit novel that we already wrote about.

That way, Tucci will join the cast that already includes Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Wes Bentley and Elizabeth Banks.

Directed by Gary Ross, and produced by Nina Jacobson’s Color Force in tandem with producer Jon Kilik, The Hunger Games story goes like this:

It’s obvious that Lionsgate carefully announces each new role assignment for The Hunger Games – the last one is certainly the most extensive: in short, American Beauty star Wes Bentley has been cast to play the role of Seneca Crane, the 74th Hunger Games Head Gamemaker.

A more lengthy, Bentley joins a slew of talented young actors including Jennifer Lawrence as new series heroine Katniss Everdeen, along Willow Shields in the role of younger sister Primrose, Josh Hutcherson who had been tapped to play Peeta Mellark, Gale Hawthorne role belongs to Liam Hemsworth, and Paula Malcomson will portray Katniss and Primrose’s Mom. Elizabeth Banks has confirmed she’s signed up to play the part of Katniss’ pre-games handler Effie Trinket.
