Paul Greengrass to Adapt THE FEAR INDEX
Let’s get straight to the point with this one. Paul Greengrass is attached to direct an adaptation of Robert Harris‘ novel The Fear Index. Yeah, Harris is the same guy who wrote The Ghost novel, which was adapted into The Ghost Writer thriller by Roman Polanski, and that’s (I guess) the only reason for us to give this new project a try. Nothing against Greengrass, though…
So, in an interview with The Telegraph, Harris revealed that Greengrass is already on board to direct The Fear Index, a thriller about an impending meltdown in the financial markets, and he added:
“I just hope that the capitalist system doesn’t collapse before publication date.”
Harris’ novel won’t be released until January, but we do know that it will follow a genius who creates a highly profitable hedge-fund based on a computer that can predict human mood swings.
His world is, however, thrown into turmoil after an intruder breaches the security systems at his home.
Paul Greengrass to Direct The Deep Blue Good-By
Ok, this is definitely something very interesting, and we know you’re going to like it, so check this out! According to the latest reports, an adaptation of John D. MacDonald’s novel titled The Deep Blue Good-By is coming, and as you already guess – it could easily be a new franchise!
On the other hand, there are already some rumors that Leonardo DiCaprio is going to star as a leading man, Travis McGee! Sounds good or what?
The Deep Blue Good-by is the first of 21 novels in the Travis McGee series by American author John D. MacDonald. Commissioned in 1964 by Fawcett Publications editor Knox Burger, the book establishes for the series an investigative protagonist in a residential Florida base – as well as a cyclical form: All McGee novel titles have a color in them.
Paul Greengrass To Write and Direct Martin Luther King Drama ‘Memphis’
Universal Pictures will set up Memphis, the drama that centers on the assassination of Dr.Martin Luther King Jr. written and directed by Paul Greengrass. The Oscar-nominated producer of Best Picture candidates The Social Network and True Grit, Scott Rudin, will make the project together with Greengrass.
Paul Greengrass wrote the script based on his own research, focused on King’s life while trying to organize the city’s sanitation workers in the turbulent spring of 1968, just before his murder on April 4 of the same year. Greengrass made more human approach to King’s character than some might expect. By the spring of 1968, King’s personal and professional lives were in confusion– his marriage was uncertain; he was a heavy smoker and drinker, and has problems packing on the pounds. King’s straightforward statements on the Vietnam War caused him to break his relationship with President Johnson, and his interest in labor organization and the urban poverty put him on the borders of the rising Black Power movement, so King was not supported by groups like The Black Panthers.

22 New Green Zone Photos
Universal Pictures has sent over a new hi-res pics from their upcoming film Green Zone starring Matt Damon, Greg Kinnear, Amy Ryan, Brendan Gleeson, Jason Isaacs and Khalid Abdalla.
Damon and director Paul Greengrass (The Bourne Supremacy, The Bourne Ultimatum, United 93) re-team for their latest electrifying thriller in Green Zone, a film set in the chaotic early days of the Iraqi War when no one could be trusted and every decision could detonate unforeseen consequences.
During the U.S.-led occupation of Baghdad in 2003, Chief Warrant Officer Roy Miller (Damon) and his team of Army inspectors were dispatched to find weapons of mass destruction believed to be stockpiled in the Iraqi desert. Rocketing from one booby-trapped and treacherous site to the next, the men search for deadly chemical agents but stumble instead upon an elaborate cover-up that inverts the purpose of their mission.
Paul Greengrass’ Final Word on Bourne
We sure enjoyed watching the Bourne trilogy story with Matt Damon in the leading role, but seems like his mission this time really ends…
Everything started with The Bourne Identity, 2002 spy film based on Robert Ludlum‘s novel of the same name, directed by Doug Liman. In very short time, movie recevied a positive critical and public reaction, so it was pretty logical that Jason Bourne’s adventures are not over.
“Green Zone” Behind-The-Scenes
Universal has debuted a behind-the-scenes featurette for Paul Greengrass-directed Green Zone starring Matt Damon.
Greengrass (Bourne Supremacy, United 93, Bourne Ultimatum) directed from the script written by Brian Helgeland (L.A. Confidential, Conspiracy Theory, Mystic River, Man on Fire).
The screenplay is inspired by the book “Imperial Life in the Emerald City” by Rajiv Chandrasekaran.
Ron Howard Directing Ludlum’s Parsifal Mosaic
Universal Pictures has attached Ron Howard to direct “The Parsifal Mosaic,” an espionage thriller written by author Robert Ludlum. Ludlum is quite well known for The Bourne series of books which feature the popular spy Jason Bourne.
The 1982 book focuses on jockeying between U.S. and Soviet intelligence agents, with American spies Michael Havelock and Jenna Karas, who are partners as well as lovers, at the center of a series of crosses and double crosses. A flashback to a Nazi attack during World War II serves as a linchpin of the story.
The action in Mosaic jumps between countries such as Italy, Greece and the former Czechoslovakia. The novel is regarded as perhaps the most Cold War-centric of Ludlum’s work.
