She has no acting experience, but she definitely looks like punk heroine (at least we think she does).
Her name is Yo-Landi Vi$$er, she's a singer from the South African group “Die Antwoord”, and looks that David Fincher thinks she could be just the perfect one to play Lisbeth Salander, the lead female role in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, the film based on the Stieg Larsson trilogy!
So, we know that this role is already being described as:
“an edgy, sexy, demanding role which would have been perfect for Angelina Jolie, if she was only ten years younger…The very best twentysomething actresses around today are in the frame and that's a very short list.”
We also had a chance to hear something like this: “the choice follows weeks of casting rumors, with producers sifting through nearly 5,000 potential candidates”, and even actresses like Carey Mulligan have expressed great interest in the part.
But one thing is for sure, who ever takes this role, has to be just as perfect as Noomi Rapace was in the Swedish version of this movie, because that girl definitely had it all – the right look, the right combination of defiance and vulnerability, and the toughness to do what she had to do.
Let us also remind you that Fincher's first idea was to cast an unknown for the role of Lisbeth Salander.
That is at least some possibility for Yo-Landi Vi$$er, the tiny female member of South African dance-rap crew “Die Antwoord” to star in a big-budget movie, although today we had a chance to hear that she has declined the role.
But, guys, nothing is official yet, and we'll keep an eye on Fincher's choice.
That is intriguing! There have been cases in which unknown girls had the leading role and did a wonderful job, and now I am curious if this girls can make this part great.
