The upcoming film, based off the novel written by Pete Dexter, follows young reporter Jack Jansen (Zac Efron) as he looks into a case involving death-row inmate Hillary Van Wetter (John Cusack). Then, trouble and temptation follows suit in the form of the inmate’s Southern belle fiancée, Charlotte Bless (Nicole Kidman).
The film also stars Matthew McConaughey, David Oyelowo, and Scott Glenn.
The Paperboy, debuted at the Cannes Film Festival, will hit theaters in the U.S. on October 5th, 2010.
