The Third ‘Step Up’ Film Will Be Made In 3D

Step Up Following the success of “Step Up” sequel to be in the top ten domestic box office, it was reported that the third film will be made in 3-D entitled “Step Up 3-D”. According to Variety, the hit dancing franchise will become the latest 3-D live-action film from the Walt Disney Pictures. Reportedly, the helmer of the sequel “Step Up 2 the Streets” has been in negotiation to once again direct the second sequel. Further, the partners of Offspring Entertainment, Adam Shankman and Jennifer Gibgot, who have been the first two films’ producers, are going to develop the 3-D film. Opened on this year’s Valentine’s Day, “Step Up 2” pulled in a surprising $28.7 million over the five-day Presidents Day weekend placing itself to the third slot on the box office weekend ended on February 18. To date, the film made on $20 million budget has grossed $41.7 million domestically only. Meanwhile, the first film “Step Up” has earned $65.3 million in domestic sales and $114.2 worldwide.
