300: Rise of an Empire - Eva Green Warner Bros is pushing back the release of its 300 prequel, as well as the studio has also moved its 2014 Tom Cruise vehicle, All You Need Is Kill, from a March 2014 bow to the middle of summer blockbuster season. The Greek epic, 300: Rise of an Empire was originally going to be released on August 2nd, 2013, but it has now been moved to March 7th, 2014. Sullivan Stapleton, Rodrigo Santoro, Eva Green, and Lena Headey star in a Noam Murro-directed sequel set at the same time as the events of the original film. On the other hand, Doug Liman‘s adaptation of the manga ‘All You Need Is Kill,' which co-stars Emily Blunt and Bill Paxton now come out on June 6th, 2014, the same weekend as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and two weeks early internationally ahead of the start of the World Cup. Warners president of domestic distribution Dan Fellman said:
Moving 300: Rise of an Empire to March 7 continues in the tradition of the first 300, and kicks off the spring moviegoing season in epic style. The film is on track to become all that audiences have come to expect from the franchise.'
He also noted,
We have tremendous confidence in ‘All You Need is Kill' and view it as a perfect tent pole for the Summer frame, with its combination of great cast, compelling story and tremendous action.”
