First Trailer For James Franco’s CHILD OF GOD

Nick Martin September 4, 2013 Add a Comment
Child of God The 70th annual Venice Film Festival has opened with the much-awaited space thriller Gravity. Among 20 titles that will dispute for the top Golden Lion prize is James Franco‘s third directorial effort, Child of God. After the jump you can see the trailer for yourself. Based on the Cormac McCarthy novel, the film will premiere in Venice on Saturday before hitting the Toronto International Film Festival later this month. Sadly, only about half of total 46-second duration is actual footage that shows actor Scott Haze looking a little nervous while Tim Blake Nelson narrates a couple of lines from the novel. Franco and Haze star alongside  Nelson and Jim Parrack, both of whom starred in Franko's film of Faulkner's As I Lay Dying, which premiered at Cannes earlier this year. There's no official word yet on the release date for Child of God. Franco who recently earned a Doctorate of English at Yale also adapted the screenplay. A damn hard worker started a very busy 2013 year with the debut of his directorial effort Interior. Check out the teaser below. [jwplayer mediaid=”168762″] Plot summary:
A dispossessed, violent man who's life is a disastrous attempt to exist outside the social order. Successively deprived of parents and homes and with few other ties, Ballard descends literally and figuratively to the level of a cave dweller as he falls deeper into crime and degradation.
