Abbie Cornish Stars in FELLINI BLACK AND WHITE
In addition to joining the cast of the upcoming MGM remake of RoboCop, Abbie Cornish has just been cast in the female lead role in Fellini Black and White, an indie biopic of legendary filmmaker Federico Fellini.
Cornish is expected to play Betty, the beautiful veterinarian who, in Henry Bromell‘s upcoming film, Fellini meets and falls in love with, on his first trip to the United States.
The story is set in Los Angeles in March of 1957, and takes place during the 48 hours that Fellini went missing right before attending the Academy Awards where his Nights of Cabiria film was nominated.
Elite Squad star Wagner Moura will play the famed director, while Peter Dinklage, William H. Macy, Terrence Howard and Broadway star Nina Arianda as Italian actress Giulietta Masina (Fellini's wife) are set to co-star; Dinklage will play the vet's lover, Macy will play Fellini's publicist and Howard will play a jazz musician who introduces Fellini to the music world.
Bromell, who also wrote the script, will get underway with production at the beginning of 2013.
As for a very busy woman Cornish who next stars in RoboCop, playing the wife of the title character (Joel Kinnaman), she also plays a supporting role in Martin McDonagh's The Seven Psychopaths.
