I've done some research and found out that Jolie is now interested in another Balkan drama, only this time it will feature the biggest Serbian pop folk singer – Svetlana Raznatovic, or simply – Ceca. And trust me guys, if this actually happens we could soon watch something really controversial, because this lady definitely lives that kind of life!
According to Serbian newspapers, Jolie is planning a second film about a Serbian folk star who was the wife of war criminal Zeljko Raznatovic Arkan, a career criminal who was at the time the leader of the paramilitary forces Arkan's Tigers and one of the most influential individuals in Belgrade in the 90s.
Thanks to those reports, we now know that staff on the set in Bosnia and Herzegovina are already looking around for the locations for the new movie.
Apparently, Jolie became quite interested in the life of the Serbian folk star while shooting her directorial debut In The Land of Blood And Honey, especially when she realized that Ceca is the biggest star out there, and not just in Serbia, but in all countries of the former Yugoslavia. And why is this so spectacular? Well, just for a record, her husband fought against them.
On the other hand, it looks that Raznatovic is open for this collaboration as well, and that she's willing to share some new details from her biography with Jolie's team.
As for the script, Jolie doesn't want to base the story on internet or press articles, but wants to meet, (and have a looong chat) with the Serbian star.
Which, I guess, won't be hard, because at the beginning of this year, she was accused of misappropriation of money from football player transfers and for illegal possession of weapons. Having pleaded guilty, she was sentenced to one year in home prison and EUR 1.5 million fine.
