Ben Affleck in Talks to Lead FOCUS
The team of Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, best known for scripts like Bad Santa and Bad News Bears, have lately directing films, such as I Love You Phillip Morris and Crazy. Stupid. Love.
Originally the duo wanted to get Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone to headline their newest script, called Focus, but that no longer seems to be the case.
The story goes like this: Ficarra and Requa have made a deal with Warner Bros. for a script and Ben Affleck is helming and starring in Warner Bros.' Argo this weekend, so why not take a chance. Finally, the studio is looking to fast-track the project once they find the female lead.
As for Focus, which is said to be more comedy than a drama, it follows a vet conman (Affleck) who gets involved with a newcomer to the grifter business and they get involved romantically, but things get complicated since they both lie, cheat and steal for a living. Going their separate ways, apparently things get even more interesting when they meet up again years later, this time with their romantic past haunting their every turn.
As for Affleck, he is also starring in the 2013 films To the Wonder and the gambling drama Runner Runner.
And that's it for now.
