Hard work in France, indeed! And all that because principal photography finally begins on Luc Besson’s latest project titled Malavita!
We already had a little chat about this movie, but now we’re here to continue with some official details that we have thanks to folks from Relativity Media.
And just in case you’ve missed the first set photo, we’re here to give you the first look at Robert De Niro and Tommy Lee Jones who both star in this movie!
Adapted by Besson from Tonino Benacquista’s book Badfellas, Malavita is a dark comedy which follows Manzonis, a notorious mafia family who gets relocated to Normandy, France under the witness protection program.
While they do their best to fit in, old habits die hard and they soon find themselves handling things the “family” way.
I already love that family-way part of the story, because one thing is for sure – this movie definitely has an extraordinary cast on board.
Beside above mentioned legends De Niro and Lee Jones, it also stars Michelle Pfeiffer, Dianna Agron and John D’Leo.
Filming on Malavita commenced in Normandy and will continue in France at La Cité du Cinéma, where the brand new Studios de Paris are located.
Additional shooting will take place in New York, and the film will bow in 2013 with Relativity handling US distribution. Virginie Besson-Silla is producing together with Ryan Kavanaugh, while Tucker Tooley will executive produce.
