Bong Joon-ho co-wrote the scipt with Kelly Masterson, and as we previously reported, the movie is actually based on the French graphic novel Le Transperceneige. Set in the future, it follows the passengers in the train who are the only survivors on Earth.
In other words – we have the surviving members of humanity who struggle to survive covered in ice on a supertrain where the poor and the rich are constantly at odds.
This image shows us one of the cast members – Song Kang-ho, who is (obviously) the part of the poor class.

Beside Kang-ho, Snowpiercer also stars Chris Evans, Tilda Swinton, Jamie Bell, Octavia Spencer, Ewen Brewmner, Alison Pill, John Hurt and Ed Harris.
