Brad Bird Will Direct Mission Impossible 4

Mission Impossible Mission Impossible 4 (Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol) is coming! But, we’ll have to wait a bit longer to see Ethan Hunt’s adventures, because it looks like May 27, 2011 really is mission impossible. Paramount has now officially announced that it’s being pushed back to December 16, 2011. Wait, December? The Invention of Hugo Cabret, Alvin and the Chipmunks 3D and The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn month?! Well, at least we’ll have a chance to watch some interesting competition! Anyway, we had opportunity to hear a lot of speculations about this one. But, Tom Cruise (Ethan Hunt will be the main star of the film, so Cruise will reprise his role, relax!) finally confirmed that animation master, and Oscar-winning filmmaker Brad Bird will direct the fourth installment of the Mission Impossible franchise. “Everything’s signed.… Brad is doing it,” Cruise said, adding: “Brad is enormously talented and JJ and I are having a blast, cranking away. We’re having a lot of fun. I like working with people I just love hanging out with. You get to hang out and laugh and talk stories and movies and technology: what are we going to do?” Nice one, since we all know Bird’s work on The Incredibles and Ratatouille. But, how the whole story started in a first place? In February, Paramount Pictures confirmed that Cruise would return as the star of the action-packed spy franchise, but that J.J. Abrams, who produced and directed the last installment would return solely as producer. A story idea by Cruise and Abrams is being transformed into a script by Josh Applebaum and Andre Nemec. And, we all remember Cruise helped revive the popular 1960s-era TV series in 1996, with Mission: Impossible, directed by Brian De Palma. A sequel directed by John Woo followed in 2000, with Abrams’s edition released in 2006. We’ll still have to wait for more details about script, and that’s why we’re leaving you without plot part this time. And, for all Cruise fans out there, little reminding – he will next be seen alongside Cameron Diaz in Knight and Day, an action comedy set for release in July. Make sure you stay tuned, because we’ll be back!
