Brad Pitt In Darren Aronofsky’s The Tiger

Brad Pitt

When you see this kind of title, then you already know some adventure thriller is coming. But, trust us, this is even more, because two well-known names are involved in the whole project: Brad Pitt and Darren Aronofsky. Yes, exactly! Ok, maybe you were little disappointed with The Fountain thing, but still, let’s give them another chance and see this upcoming movie, based on a forthcoming book called The Tiger: A True Story of Vengeance and Survival. So, this is how the story goes: “It’s December 1997 and a man-eating tiger is on the prowl outside a remote village in Russia’s Far East. The tiger isn’t just killing people, it’s annihilating them, and a team of men and their dogs must hunt it on foot through the forest in the brutal cold. To their horrified astonishment it emerges that the attacks are not random: the tiger is engaged in a vendetta. Injured and starving, it must be found before it strikes again, and the story becomes a battle for survival between the two main characters: Yuri Trush, the lead tracker, and the tiger itself.” They also describe it as: “Beautifully written and deeply informative.” The Tiger circles around three main characters, Vladimir Markov, a poacher killed by the tiger, Yuri Trush, the lead tracker and the tiger himself. It is an absolutely gripping tale of man and nature that leads inexorably to a final showdown in a clearing deep in the taiga. So, now we wonder who Pitt might play. Vladimir Markov? Tiger? Ok, we’re joking. What we definitely know is that this is reteaming for Pitt and Arriaga, who worked together on the multi-arc drama Babel. Arriaga, exactly, because Babel writer Guillermo Arriaga is expected to assume scripting responsibilities. Producers on the pic will be Protozoa’s Mark Heyman, Ari Handel and Aronofsky; and Plan B’s Jeremy Kleiner, Dede Gardner and Mr. Pitt, and deal is part of a multi-year filmmaking partnership between Random House Films and Focus. Knopf is a division of Random House. Sounds good after all? Why not, we sign in, and we definitely expect to hear more details about The Tiger as soon as possible. Make sure you stay tuned!
