Charlize Theron To Join Robert Downey Jr. In Paul Thomas Anderson’s Adaptation Of INHERENT VICE?

Charlize Theron Mistery (finally) solved – Paul Thomas Anderson‘s next project is Inherent Vice, an adaptation of Thomas Pynchon‘s novel of the same name! But, as you already see from our title, now we have another dilemma – will Charlize Theron actually join previously announced Robert Downey Jr.? Or, is that just another rumor? Well, at least one thing is for sure – it sounds great! So, this update comes from Showbiz 411, who confirm that Paul Thomas Anderson’s next film will be an adaptation of Inherent Vice, and also add that:
…it does like Robert Downey, Jr. and perhaps Charlize Theron will be the stars, with more names coming.
So, the good thing is that Downey is apparently still attached to play a stoner detective named Doc Sportello in a story that goes like this:
It’s been a while since Doc Sportello has seen his ex- girlfriend. Suddenly she shows up with a story about a plot to kidnap a billionaire land developer whom she just happens to be in love with. It’s the tail end of the psychedelic sixties in L.A., and Doc knows that love is another of those words going around at the moment, like trip or groovy, except that this one usually leads to trouble.
If Theron-part actually works out, she would play that ex-girlfriend, or what? The answer is probably – yes. Anyway, at the end of this report let us also add that Megan Ellison is going to produce Inherent Vice via her Annapurna Productions, and as usual – for more details about the whole thing – make sure you stay tuned! Robert Downey Jr.
