Ric Roman Waugh directed the movie from a script he co-wrote with Justin Haythe, and as we previously reported, this fast-paced action thriller centers on a father who must go undercover for the DEA in order to free his son who was imprisoned after being set up in drug deal.

Just for the record – the movie is inspired by true events, and beside Dwayne Johnson, Snitch also stars Susan Sarandon, Benjamin Bratt and Barry Pepper. It is set to open on February 22nd, 2013.

Snitch stars Dwayne Johnson as a father whose teenage son is wrongly accused of a drug distribution crime and is looking at a mandatory minimum prison sentence of 10 years. Desperate and determined to rescue his son at all costs, he makes a deal with the U.S. Attorney to work as an undercover informant and infiltrate a drug cartel on a dangerous mission- risking everything, including his family and his own life.
