Concrete Island – remember that title, because that's the upcoming
Brad Anderson‘s movie that will reunite him with Batman star,
Christian Bale!
Reunite, exactly! We're sure you already know that they previously worked together on 2004 psychological thriller
The Machinist, right?
Here's how director Anderson described the whole thing:
“The best way to describe it is it's like an urban Robinson Crusoe story – a guy crashes a car into a highway interchange and is marooned in this weedy lot, injured, and can't escape and he's basically trying to survive in the middle of the big urban Metropolis.
It's sort of a crazy, cool Ballard-esque type story, but Christian's on board to do that when we can fit it into his schedule, of course.”
Concrete Island is an adaptation of
J.G. Ballard's 1974 novel of the same name and The Machinsit writer
Scott Kosar is the one writing the script for the adaptation.
Anderson said they plan to shoot the film when Bale can fit it into his schedule, but let us remind you that Bale is currently filming
Zhang Yimou‘s
13 Flowers of Nanjing (The 13 Women of Nanjing) and then he has
Christopher Nolan‘s
The Dark Knight Rises.
So, we guess that the movie will not start shooting this year.
But, as usual, we'll keep an eye on the
