When I did Million Dollar Baby I thought, ‘Well, this would be a nice one to quit on,' and thenGran Torino came along. They're not writing a lot of really great material for guys my age. In lieu of that, I would just prefer to stay behind the camera. But if a great role came along, yeah, I would do that. But actors are like boxers — they stay too long sometimes. Now, there's no doubt it was answered honestly and truthfully – retirement is for suckers. Besides, road movies aren't anything new for Eastwood – in addition to A Perfect World, he toplined Every Which Way But Loose, too. Speaking of the new project, once both positions are filled they will start looking for a talented actress to play the female lead. However, Dirty Harry doesn't like to sit at home. Check out the trailer for Eastwood and Lorenz's latest production, biopic J. Edgar starring Leonardo DiCaprio. It hits theaters November 9th. Stay tuned. Clint Eastwood (May Star) in (Drama) TROUBLE
Clint Eastwood, who changes his opinion like the weather who once said 2008s Gran Torino would be his last acting job, is almost ready to go in front of the camera again in a baseball scout drama called Trouble With the Curve.
So, Eastwood's next film may not be as a director as planned – you know, Beyonce's pregnancy has put off A Star is Born remake.
The 81-year-old vet actor-turned-director is in talks with Warner Bros. to star as an aging scout, who is slowly going blind and who goes on a road trip with his adult daughter to check out a hot prospect, sources confirm. The script was penned by Randy Brown.
The Curve film may be helmed by his longtime producer and trusted partner, Robert Lorenz, who is also in talks on the project. It would make Lorenz's directorial debut, though he has served as Eastwood's assistant director on over 20 films, such as Mystic River and Million Dollar Baby.
