Update: The production is also looking at
Paul Dano (Prisoners),
Anton Yelchin (Star Trek),

Deadline has the scoop that
Colin Farrell and
Paula Patton may take the lead roles in Legendary Pictures' adaptation of the worldwide video game phenomenon
World of Warcraft, which will be directed by
Moon helmer
Duncan Jones.
The
Total Recall actor has been offered a lead role in the film, although no word on what role exactly
2 Guns actress is being considered for.
One of three characters such as the wizard Khadgar, the mage Medivh and the knight champion Anduin Lothar have been reportedly offered to Farrell.
Production is scheduled to start in January, which makes a 2015 release date look good.
The script will come from
Blood Diamond screenwriter
Charles Leavitt.
Although no official plot details are available, the video game adaptation could follow the story of the original Warcraft strategy games, centering on the humans vs. orcs conflict instead of the more recent World of Warcraft online game.
Farrell can next be seen in Disney's upcoming
Saving Mr. Banks, while Patton can be seen back on the big screen in next week's rom-com
Baggage Claim.
