Despicable Me 2 A sequel, titled Despicable Me 2 is an all-new comedy adventure featuring the return of super-villain Gru (Steve Carell) and his three adorable girls, Margo, Edith, and Agnes who aren’t afraid of him and who like his secret underground layer and the minions he calls his ‘cousins’. Despicable Me entertained audiences in 2010, becoming the 10th-biggest animated motion picture in U.S. history. Digitally re-mastered into IMAX 3D format, a follow-up to the 2010 hit will premiere on June 12th 2013 and will be theatrically released in the United States on July 3rd, 2013. Margo (Miranda Cosgrove), Edith (Dana Gaier), Agnes (Elsie Fisher) and Gru have really become a family. Margo is growing up and she has her first love interest Antonio, voiced by Moises Arias. There are also some new characters like Lucy, an Anti-Villain League agent and Gru’s love interest (Kristen Wiig, who played Miss Hattie in the first film) and Eduardo (Benjamin Bratt – Al Pacino was originally cast in the role). The 3D computer-animated adventure comedy film also stars Russell Brand as Gru’s friend Dr. Nefario, Steve Coogan as the head of the Anti-Villain League Silas Ramsbottom, and Ken Jeong.
