“Kinds of Kindness” is an upcoming anthology film directed by Yorgos Lanthimos, scheduled for a limited theatrical release on June 21, 2024 by Searchlight Pictures.
The film features an ensemble cast including Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons, Willem Dafoe, Margaret Qualley, Hong Chau, Joe Alwyn, Mamoudou Athie, and Hunter Schafer. It is a triptych fable following three interconnected stories:
- A man without choice who tries to take control of his own life
- A policeman alarmed that his missing-at-sea wife has returned, seemingly a different person
- A woman determined to find someone with a special ability destined to become a prodigious spiritual leader
“Kinds of Kindness” will have its world premiere at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival, where it will compete for the Palme d'Or. The film is expected to be Lanthimos' longest to date at 2 hours and 44 minutes.
