Diane Lane is set to play the former First Lady and Secretary of State
Hillary Clinton in
NBC's upcoming four-hour miniseries. Titled simply

Sounds interesting? No, if you ask me, but in case you don't share my opinion – head inside to find more details…
At this moment we know that “Frozen River” helmer
Courtney Hunt is on board to direct the project, while folks from NBC are currently looking for a screenwriter to pen the script. But as we said at the beginning – the series will show us Clinton as a wife, mother, politician and cabinet member from 1998 to the present.
Or, as we learned from the official announcement – the series will begin with Clinton living in the White House as her husband is serving the second of his two terms as president. In the years following, she would eventually become a United States senator, run for president and, ultimately, serve the country as secretary of state.
And, while we're still here at the husband-part of the story, let us add that the actor who will play former president Bill Clinton has not yet been cast.
NBC's entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt said the miniseries will likely air before Clinton is rumored to declare herself as a presidential candidate for the 2016 race, so I guess we'll soon have more updates to share.
