Captain America: The First Avenger thesp Dominic Cooper is in talks to star in Need for Speed big-screen adaptation.
Cooper would reportedly star opposite Aaron Paul as the other male lead in the forthcoming motoring movie, which is based on the Electronic Arts video game of the same name.
Directed by Scott Waugh (Act of Valor)and written by John and George Gatins, the film recently cast Imogen Poots (Fright Night).
Cooper is up for the role of Dino, a former NASCAR driver who also modifies supercars for wealthy clients, while Paul plays an underground racing driver who has diversified into running a garage which modifies luxury cars to boost their power; Poots is playing an exotic car dealer who works with both Aaron and Dominic's characters.
Variety broke the news.
Shooting will begin early next year, with a release date March 14th, 2014.
Cooper was last seen in horror fantasy flick Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and he will next be seen in action thriller Dead Man Down, co-starring Colin Farrell and Noomi Rapace.
