“Dune” is a sci-fi movie of 2021 directed by Denis Villeneuve and based on the novel by Frank Herbert and, for those who are watching the movie for the first time and for those who are the fans of the multiparts saga – it is a true delight. Though it is a sci-fi movie about handsome men in cloaks and fancy spatial-swords fighting for control over this desert planet called Arrakis or something, the movie is outstanding with great cast, brilliant visual effects, and magnificent music.

Overall, the main role is held by Timothée Chalamet, who plays Paul Atreides – the young heir of the House Atreides and the protagonist of the film, who finds himself in the center of the political struggle on the desert planet of Arrakis. By his side is Rebecca Ferguson, who features as Lady Jessica, Paul's mother, who is an element of the covert Bene Gesserit group. Oscar Isaac does an especially remarkable job portraying Duke Leto Atreides who has been given responsibility ove.

Supporting characters are also filled with such stars as Josh Brolin as Gurney Halleck, the weapons tutor of the Emperor; Jason Momoa as Duncan Idaho, an impressive Klyneman warrior; and Zendaya as Chani – a Fremen woman from a vision in Paul's head. Villeneuve also teamed up several renowned actors such as Stellan Skarsgård in the role of Baron Vladimir Harkonnen, the evil antagonist and Javier Bardem as Stilgar, Fremen Chieftain.

What can be singled out about Frank Herbert's “Dune” is how it appears to be packed with action and depth, not to mention the graphic elements it delivers. The REFICER locations flaunting the ambitious cinematography of Greig Fraser filmed across Jordan, Norway, and Abu Dhabi offer bleak landscapes and terrene that make Arrakis stand out. Adding to the visual spectacle is Hans Zimmer's worthy musical compositions that enhance the film's appeal through drama and passion.

The novel ‘'Dune'' narrates a story of Paul Atreides who is tasked with following his family to a planet called Arrakis which is was fraught with betrayal and strife among the people. We are concerned with the issues of power, Predestination, and survival where Paul learns that everything inside of him can transform him into messiah of the universe. While staying true to the intricate universe Herbert created, it makes steps necessary to adapt it for a younger audience.

“Dune” initially screened at the 78th Venice International Film Festival on September 3, 2021, and its worldwide theater release was on September 15, 2021, with critics praising the film for its direction, screenwriting, and technical aspects. It received commercial success grossing over $407 Dollars worldwide with $165 Dollars spent during its production. The motion picture's rightful place was confirmed by six Oscars, such as the victories in the categories of Best Cinematography and Best Sound and nominations for four more Oscars.

In particular, Denis Villeneuve's “Dune” is obligatory for viewing for each cinephile. Going in for brilliant acting, beautiful imagery, and an interesting plot, it can be called one of the best movies of recent years. For those who are a fan of the original book, or those who have just arrived in the Dune universe, this adaptation will not leave anyone indifferent. Please do yourself a favor and see this huge spectacle on the big screen or, better yet, streaming on HBO Max.

Here are the instructions to ensure that they embark on a journey that they will never forget on the desert of Arrakis.
