Probably the biggest breakout star of
Les Miserables,
Eddie Redmayne, is in negotiations to co-star with
Channing Tatum in the Warner Bros. sci-fi movie
Jupiter Ascending.
My Week With Marylyn thesp was in the running for the Harry Osborn role in the Spider-Man sequel that eventually went to Dane DeHaan. Redmayne has also been linked to the role of Peter Quill aka Star Lord in the
Guardians of the Galaxy movie. Production on the Marvel Studios Guardians will take place around the same time as Jupiter Ascending, making it impossible for Redmayne to do both.
If he does indeed sign on for a 3D IMAX film from The Wachowski siblings, he will also join
Mila Kunis in the story which takes place:
In a universe where humans are near the bottom of the evolutionary ladder, a young destitute human woman is targeted for assassination by the Queen of the Universe because her very existence threatens to end the Queen's reign.
No word yet on details regarding Redmayne's role. Production on the film will get underway in February of next year.
