Gemma Arterton is set to star as Justin Timberlake‘s love interest in the online gambling thriller Runner Runner, according to reports. The thriller is slightly familiar territory for screenwriters Brian Koppelman and David Levien, who wrote Rounders.
Oh, I almost forgot to tell you that Runner Runner, which will be shot in Puerto Rico, will also feature Ben Affleck.
Popstar-turned-actor Timberlake will play a US University student who is cheated out of the money for his Princeton tuition fees while playing online poker. He ends up becoming the right-hand man of the site’s corrupt boss, played by Affleck, Variety said.
The film, which will begin shooting at the end of June, will be helmed by Brad Furman, best known for The Lincoln Lawyer.
We recently have reported that Tamara Drewe star Arterton is also in talks to join the Jeff Buckley biopic, Mystery White Boy that will take place later this year.
The former Bond girl (Quantum of Solace) will next be seen in Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, a modern spin on the children’s tale Hansel and Gretel, initially slated for a March 2nd, 2012 release, but Paramount Pictures pushed it to January 11th, 2013.
