Well, George Clooney is reportedly in talks to join the mystery-shrouded Disney tentpole film 1952, which has The Incredibles helmer Brad Bird attached to direct.
Written by Damon Lindelof (Prometheus) and Lost co-creator Jeff Jensen from Entertainment Weekly, the project is said to be a ‘Close Encounters of the Third Kind'-esque story following a man who makes contact with aliens on Earth.
Details of what character Clooney would play in the upcoming film about alien invaders are still kept secret.
Rumors are swirling that his character would be similar to that of Close Encounters of the Third Kind's Roy Neary played by Richard Dreyfuss.
The film is not officially green lit and no cast is officially set, but the studio is looking to begin production sometime in 2013.
As of now, the Oscar-winning these who is no stranger to sci-fi genre (Solaris) will next appear in Alfonso Cuarón's Gravity and has The Monuments Men as his next project in which he will not only star, but also direct and co-write the script alongside Grant Heslove.
As for Bird, 1952 will be his second live action film with the first one being Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol.
