George Clooney is “The Tourist”

Warner Bros. has hired Anthony Peckham (Don’t Say a Word) to adapt “The Tourist“, a new film based on an Olen Steinhauer novel that’s being developed as a potential starring vehicle for George Clooney, reports Variety.
The story is “a contemporary international thriller about a spy who risks everything to reveal a conspiracy after he’s accused of a murder he didn’t commit.”
Along with The Tourist, Peckham also has “Human Factor” in production, a film which will star Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon, with Clint Eastwood directing. The writer also recently worked on a draft of the upcoming Guy Ritchie directed Sherlock Holmes.
This The Tourist is apparently unrelated to the recently announced project of the same name (an American remake of the 2005 French thriller Anthony Zimmer) and the Hugh Jackman/Ewan McGregor flick “Deception,” which also originally went by the same title.
