Grumpy cat is going Hollywood! Good! Actually, they all say it's a bad idea, but let's be honest – we have nothing against this decision. After all, we're talking about an internet celebrity (if Susan Boyle can have her biopic, what's the problem with a female cat to get some attention as well?) and that fluffy ass has more than 930,000 like on Facebook. So, where's the problem?
Maybe it's the dumbest idea ever, but according to the latest reports – Grumpy cat's reps Ben Lashes and Al Hassas have teamed up to produce and assemble a package for a Garfield-like feature film with the most influential cat of 2012 at the center of the show.
As you already guess, the plan is to give Grumpy Cat the power of human speech. We all know that Tardar Sauce has no problem with saying her unfriendly thoughts aloud, but this time – she'll actually star in a family movie!
According to Deadline, the project is now a priority at New Line, with
Mark Steilen writing and
Will Ferrell and
Jack Black coming attached to play two of the main characters.
Broken Road's Todd Garner said that the whole thing started off as a picture of a cat, but also added: “You read all of the memes and the comments, and one is funnier than the next. We think we can build a big family comedy around this character.”
There you go! That's basically all we know about Grumpy-movie at this moment.
Disappointed?
Good!
