Saoirse Ronan has joined the cast of
Ryan Gosling‘s upcoming directorial debut
How To Catch a Monster! So far – so good. As we previously reported,
Christina Hendricks,
Eva Mendes,
Matt Smith,
Ben Mendelsohn and
Rob Zabrecky are already on board for Gosling's modern day fairytale set against the surreal dreamscape of a vanishing city.
Ryan Gosling will direct the movie from his own script which weaves elements of fantasy noir, and suspense into a modern day fairytale. Or, if you prefer the official synopsis:
Set against the surreal dreamscape of a vanishing city, Billy, a single mother of two, is swept into a macabre and dark fantasy underworld while her teenage son, Bones, discovers a secret road leading to an underwater town. Both Billy and Bones must dive deep into the mystery, if their family is to survive.
Hendricks is on board to play Billy, Mendes is set to play character named Cat, Zabrecky will play a cab driver while Matt Smith will play the male lead.
