One wikend would unite two great nations. After cocktails, of course!
Hyde Park On Hudson wasn't exactly my favourite project, but after watching the first TV spot and a completely new featurette, I definitely have to say – the movie looks great! I mean – just imagine (or, even better – watch!)
Bill Murray as Franklin D. Roosevelt, who would say no to an offer like this? Check it out and let us know what you think!

As usual, at the beginning of the report, I will remind you that this project comes from director
Roger Michell, while
Richard Nelson stands behind the movie script which centers on the weekend in 1939 when the King and Queen of the United Kingdom visited upstate New York.

The movie has an awesome cast on board which, beside the extraordinary Murray also includes
Laura Linney,
Olivia Colman,
Samuel West,
Elizabeth Marvel,
Elizabeth Wilson,
Eleanor Bron and
Olivia Williams.
In June 1939, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt and his wife Eleanor host the King and Queen of England for a weekend at the Roosevelt home at Hyde Park on Hudson, in upstate New York – the first-ever visit of a reigning English monarch to America. With Britain facing imminent war with Germany, the Royals are desperately looking to FDR for support. But international affairs must be juggled with the complexities of FDR's domestic establishment, as wife, mother, and mistresses all conspire to make the royal weekend an unforgettable one. Seen through the eyes of Daisy, Franklin's distant cousin, neighbor, and intimate, the weekend will produce not only a special relationship between two great nations, but, for Daisy – and through her, for us all – a deeper understanding of the mysteries of love and friendship.
