John Woo will Direct “Caliber”
John Woo will direct the big screen adaptation of the “Caliber” comic book.
“Caliber” movie will be a three-way co-production between Johnny Depp‘s Infinitum Nihil, Barry Levine‘s Radical Comics and US-based Lion Rock, which is co-owned by Woo himself.
The comic, which will debut at next week's Comic Con which runs July 24-27, sets King Arthur and his Knights as 19th century gunslingers in the Pacific Northwest.
John Woo will first have to direct the second part of “Red Cliff” for a January release. First part of the movie opened July 10.
After he completes that, he will go to work on the romantic period piece 1949. After all that Woo can start work on this pseudo-western, film version of “Caliber.”
Woo's other Stateside projects include a remake of 1969 French crime drama “The Sicilian Clan,” which starred Alain Delon and Lino Ventura, and “The Divide,” the story of a Chinese laborer working on America's transcontinental railroads in the 19th century. At this time, none of these projects have a set start date.
