Let’s not get greedy – that’s exactly what
Christian Bale has to say about his involvement in the upcoming
Justice League movie (read: NO Batman this time). But, wait, what about the
upcoming part of the story? Maybe we’re wrong with that, too? Don’t shoot the messenger, I’m just guessing: if Batman is not on board, and if Superman (aka
Henry Cavill) says that the film is not around the corner, then maybe… there’s no
Justice League after all?
So, who the hell IS on board for
Justice League? Who are the greatest heroes assembled to form the Justice League and combat a threat beyond each individual’s capabilities?
A few months ago, we shared some pretty cool
rumors that included Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and The Flash (among others).
But now, thanks to
Christian Bale and his interview with
EW, we know that he has no information, no knowledge about anything.
Or, as he said:
I’ve literally not had a conversation with a living soul. I understand that they may be making a Justice League movie, that’s it. It’s a torch that should be handed from one actor to another. So I enjoy looking forward to what somebody else will come up with.
Bale also added:
We were incredibly fortunate to get to make three [Batman films]. That’s enough. Let’s not get greedy. Chris [Nolan] always said he wanted to make it one film at a time. And we ended up sitting there looking at each other, saying ‘We’re about to make the third.’ We never really knew if we were going to get to be there, but if that was how it was going to be, this was where it should end as well.
Meanwhile, our brand new Superman –
Henry Cavill, thinks that the movie could be great if done correctly but also adds it is a very tough one to do because the DC comic heroes are all
god-like in their power:
In this real world setting we’re telling our story in, it’s going to be tough to achieve that and it has to be done very delicately with a lot of thought. So, it won’t be right away, I hope it’s not anyway. It may take some time of building up other movies and other characters and introducing them together in one way or another. I think it would be great to do, but I don’t think it’s around the corner.
Check out the rest of Cavill’s interview with Peter Travirs, and let us know what you think about this update –
disappointed or not?
I’m not disappointed at all. The new Batman in whatever Justice League movie needs to be a different kind of character than what we got in the Nolan trilogy. I just hope they don’t do another origin story for Batman.
