Kevin Costner to Join Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained
Ok, this could be interesting. According to the latest reports, Kevin Costner (remember that guy, right?) is about to join the cast of Quentin Tarantino‘s upcoming Django Unchained.
I mean, this definitely sounds great, especially when we know that Costner joins previously announced Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Samuel L. Jackson and Leonardo DiCaprio. It doesn't get better than this!
So, let us remind you once again that Foxx is on board to play Django, a slave who is liberated by a German dentist-turned-bounty hunter, played by Waltz, and taught the tricks of the trade by his mentor.
Django's major goal in life is to recover his wife, and to do it he needs to get past the villainous ranch owner Calvin Candie, played by DiCaprio.
Candie runs Candyland, a despicable club and plantation in Mississippi where female slaves are exploited as sex objects and males are pitted against each other in death matches. He is a slave's worst nightmare, and that is where Django's wife Broomhilda is an abused slave.
As for Samuel L. Jackson, he is on board to star as Stephen,Candie's valet who keeps the slaves in line, while Costner will play Ace Woody, a sadistic co-owner of Candyland who pits slave fighters against one another, and has little qualms about mistreating and even killing the slaves who don't measure up.
So, all of the sudden, Costner is one busy guy. I'm sure you already know that he's also attached to play Superman's father in Zack Snyder's upcoming Man of Steel, and he's also attached to star in and produce as well The History Channel's upcoming miniseries Hatfields & McCoys.
Is this Costner's comeback? Let's wait and see. Stay tuned!
