Kristen Stewart is signing on to join her Adventureland co-star Jesse Eisenber in the action-comedy American Ultra, whom she has quite the on-screen chemistry indeed.
The duo are set for a blend of stoner slacker attitude entitled American Ultra, about a lazy stoner dude named Mike (Eisenberg) and his girlfriend Phoebe (Stewart) whose small-town life is turned upside down when Mike’s past comes back to haunt him, and he becomes the unwitting target of a government operation.
With a script by all-round Twitter nuisance Max Landis (who wrote the hit sci-fi found-footage movie Chronicle), Project X director Nima Nourizadeh is calling the shots for this one.
Producer Anthony Bregman, clearly trying to sell this thing from the start, saying:
Simply put, American Ultra will be the most fun you can possibly have in a movie theater without the use of drugs, fireworks, or canola oil.
FilmNation will launch international sales next week at the American Film Market (AFM).
The Twilight Saga actress’ work schedule just keeps getting busier as she flew to NY from LA to film another indie flick, Tim Blake Nelson’s Anesthesia on November 2nd. She’s recently wrapped on the Guantanamo Bay film, Camp X-Ray, and has completed Olivier Assayas’ psychological drama Sils Maria.
As for the Social Network star, he’ll soon be seen in Richard Ayoade’s mystery The Double and Kelly Reichardt’s environmentalist thriller Night Moves, and he’ll be heard reprising his role as Blu in next year’s animated sequel Rio 2 too.
Anyway let’s hope it’ll be little less Project X.
