Lisa Lampanelli, Bella Heathcote, Molly Price, Christopher McDonald Join David Chase’s Twylight Zones
Comedian Lisa Lampanelli has revealed she's been cast in Twylight Zones, an upcoming David Chase‘s project.
But that's not all! Chase announced today that Bella Heathcote, Christopher McDonald and Molly Price will also be featured in the director's music-driven story set in 1960's suburbia.
Chase previously announced that actors Will Brill and Jack Huston (Boardwalk Empire) will star in the movie which will be released by Paramount Vantage.
You probably remember our little chat about this project, so you know that The Sopranos creator, already chose James Gandolfini, John Magaro and Brad Garrett (Everybody Loves Raymond) for his directorial debut. Nice choice…
Twylight Zones is drama set in 1960s New Jersey and centers on Douglas (John Magaro), a timid teenager who comes out of his shell and gains attention as the lead singer of his rock band, Twylight Zones.
James Gandolfini will play Douglas' father, who is repulsed by his son's rock and roll ways.
“It is so great to be working with Jim again. He is the perfect actor for this part – a postwar, post-Depression era parent who has given his kid every advantage that he didn't have growing up, but now can't help feeling jealous of the liberated, more adventurous destiny his son is able to enjoy,” said Chase.
Price will portray the boy's mother in the movie, with Lampanelli playing his Aunt.
Christopher McDonald plays the father of Douglas' love interest – Bella Heathcote.
Chase, who wrote the original script, will produce alongside Oscar-winning producer Mark Johnson (Rain Man, The Chronicles of Narnia).
Steven Van Zandt will be executive producing the film as well as supervising the music, and production just got underway in New York.
