Stolen update! Malin Akerman is in negotiations to join Nicolas Cage in the upcoming kidnapping thriller that will be directed by When a Stranger Calls helmer Simon West.
I’m sure you already know that Cage is set to star as a former master thief who has only a few hours to find his daughter when she is kidnapped and locked in the trunk of a New York medallion taxi cab.
If negotiations work out, Malin Akerman will star as Cage’s former girlfriend and former bankrobber who teams up with Cage to help him find his daughter.
It’s always nice to have a lovely lady on board when you have to rescue somebody, so I guess that Akerman is the perfect choice for a female lead. You probably remember her from titles like Watchmen and Couples Retreat.
Medallion will shoot in New Orleans starting in mid-March, and it represents a reunion between West and Cage, who last teamed for “Con Air” in 1997.
